Who we are

Juan de Fuca Search and Rescue is a team of unpaid professionals who respond to land-based search and rescue emergencies within the Juan de Fuca electoral area including all inland waters.

What we do

JdF SAR is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year and provide an emergency response to:

• People who become lost in the wilderness setting such as hikers, hunters, climbers, campers, kayakers.
• People who become injured in the wilderness setting.
• People who become lost in an urban or sub-urban setting such as people with dementia, children, people with mental health disorders.

Where we respond

Our primary response area is the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area, which is on the west coast of southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Our primary mutual aid response area is the rest of southern Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands.
